Water pressure and flow problems
Help with poor, uneven or changing water pressure and flow around the property. We can investigate whether the problem is local to one outlet, linked to internal pipework or valves, or affecting the incoming supply more generally.
Common pressure and flow problems
Low pressure and low flow are not always the same problem. A restriction, valve, tap, shower, pipe size or incoming supply issue can produce similar symptoms.
Poor flow at one outlet
A single tap or shower performing worse than the rest of the property.
Whole-property low flow
Several outlets affected at the same time.
Hot and cold imbalance
Hot and cold supplies behaving very differently.
Intermittent flow
Performance changing depending on which outlets are being used.
Valve restrictions
Partially closed, damaged or unsuitable service valves restricting flow.
Pipework limitations
Older, undersized or altered pipework affecting available flow.
Work out where the restriction starts
We compare affected and unaffected outlets, look at accessible valves and pipework, and consider whether the symptom changes with demand. That helps narrow down whether the issue is local, internal or upstream of the property.
If the evidence points to the incoming mains supply rather than internal plumbing, we explain that rather than recommending unnecessary internal work.
Pressure, flow and expectations
Good plumbing performance depends on both pressure and available flow. Improving one restriction cannot create supply capacity that is not available at the property.
One outlet only
Often points towards the tap, shower, valve or local pipework.
Several outlets
May indicate a wider internal restriction or incoming-supply issue.
Busy periods
Supply performance can vary with local demand in some areas.
Recent plumbing changes
New valves, filters or alterations can sometimes introduce restrictions.

Water pressure FAQs
Can you increase my mains water pressure?
We can investigate internal restrictions and flow problems, but the incoming mains pressure itself is controlled by the water supplier.
Why is one tap weak but the others are fine?
That usually suggests a local issue such as the tap, service valve, filter, hose or nearby pipework rather than a whole-property supply problem.
Is low pressure the same as low flow?
No. Pressure and flow are related but different, which is why the symptoms need to be checked before choosing a remedy.
Can photos help with a pressure problem?
Photos of valves, cylinders, pumps or affected fittings can help with context, but performance normally needs on-site checking to diagnose properly.
